“A Second Reformation? That sounds serious! But you have to be kidding, right? This is just a word gimmick for some new image the modern Church is moving toward, right? It’s not really a true reformation, right?”
Unfortunately this isn’t just a new word gimmick nor some new image makeover. The Holy Spirit is moving and the issue is quite serious.
Why is reformation happening?
Many will indeed say, “I didn’t know the Christian Church needed reformation?”
Sometimes the patient doesn’t know they are gravely ill. Just like the Pharisees thought they were doing the will of God, they actually were not. The Pharisees followed their own designs and not those established by God. The Pharisees had replaced the laws of God with their own man-made traditions which they upheld to be on par or equal to the actual laws and commandments of God. Many times, these Pharisaical traditions overwrote, changed or even outright abolished the laws of God. It was indeed something Jesus the Messiah harshly criticized the Pharisees, Scribes and Elders for doing.
Now modern Christendom has done the exact same thing as the Pharisees themselves did with the Law of God. Christianity has all but removed man’s obligation to abide the simple tenets of obedience to the Law of God. We have replaced God’s Law with Christian excuses—man-made traditions—which somehow allow Christianity to toss out God’s laws and replace them with powerless and worthless doctrines of man-made error.
Did we not see this Reformation coming?
Yes, as a matter of fact many Christians have–many of God’s People have heard the call of the Holy Spirit and responded. What remains to be seen is if our collective leadership are any better listeners than the Pharisees were. Let us hope that history does not need to repeat itself …
True reformation which takes root within the hearts and minds of God’s people happens only by the moving of His Holy Spirit within the people of God. The Scriptures and modern history are replete with God bringing reformation to His people when we inevitably move, yet again, too far away from the original Gospel of His Law.
From our “perspective of tradition”, the changes and reforms brought about by God Himself seem odd, even radical. But truly Godly reforms, true changes in how God’s people live-out the true Gospel of Messiah, only seem odd or radical to a wayward church. From God’s perspective, the tenets of obedience are not radical at all. Regardless of the label we have assigned ourselves, whether “Christians” or “Jews” or even “Muslim”, we have moved so far away from the original truths of His Gospel that when we actually see the truth of God from within the Scriptures, true obedience appears as odd or even radical behavior to us.
We have moved so far away from God that our churches indeed teach that to actually obey God’s Law is to somehow become heretical. This is how far man with his religious traditions has moved away from the truth originally taught by Jesus the Messiah.
Modern Christendom has become ancient Phariseeism all over again.
Just as the errant traditions of the Pharisees had replaced the true Gospel Law of God, so the errant traditions of Christianity have also replaced the truth of the Gospel Law of Jesus Christ.
The Second Reformation is a clarion call; it is about returning the people of God back to the simple truths of His Gospel and obedience to His eternal Law. The Second Reformation is not simply revival, but wholesale transformation. This Second Reformation echoes the beginnings of God’s call for His faithful people to leave a wayward and apostate church which has been built more on man’s errant traditions than on God’s simple Commandments.
This Second Reformation is the call of Yahweh God for His faithful people to come out of a wayward and harlot “Christian” church; a church which God Himself calls—Babylon.
How do we reform?
Again, many will indeed say, “How have we tossed out God’s laws? We as faithful Christians obey the Ten Commandments!”
Actually, no, we do not obey the Ten Commandments; we only obey a wayward traditional “interpretation” of them. We have indeed lost the original meanings of and power behind the truths of the Ten Commandments. The fact is the Christian Church really only has six Commandments which we obey—some churches do not even abide that many. Of course we say we abide all ten, but by our mistaken traditions and wayward interpretation, we really only keep the latter six. Just like the Pharisees did with their traditions, Christendom has literally thrown out the first four by our own wayward traditional interpretations.

Who is part of the Second Reformation?
First, take note that the call of God has always been to individual hearts, not collective organizations. Although these individuals might collectively comprise churches, peoples and nations, God always deals with the individual heart.
The Second Reformation of the Christian Church will not be limited to any one church or organization. Rather the Second Reformation will be made up of individuals–individuals who might then belong to any number of churches, denominations or orgainzations.
What is SecondReformation.org?
SecondReformation.org is simply a place designed to be a kind of information clearinghouse. We are a ministry of sorts designed to provide the necessary news, discussion, instruction, tools, media and resources to help other individual Christians and even other ministries follow the tenets of God’s reforming of His Church. We don’t know ultimately where this Second Reformation will lead. We have our own ideas, perspectives and understandings which we indeed share. We do not profess to be inerrant nor infallible; we do like to think that God has given us a modicum of inspiration in our observations. Whatever our observations, we strive to be fair and balanced in our reporting.
Ultimately, our goal is to help Christians move away from the man-made errors of tradition and pop-culture and rebuild our personal relationships with Yahweh God His way, instead of attempting to do such man’s way.
